Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

I would like to take a few moments to introduce myself and the ministry of Central Baptist Church. The Lord so graciously saved me in 1965 while attending what was then known as Bethany Baptist Church in Millard, Nebraska. From there the Lord called me to Midwestern Baptist College under the ministry of Dr. Tom Malone in Pontiac, Michigan. It was there that I met my wife, Beverly. We have now been married for forty-six years.

It has been our privilege to minister in churches in; Illinois, Michigan, Florida, Mississippi, and Nebraska (where I pastored for thirty years). Four states, seven children and thirty grandchildren later the Lord led us here to Gillette, Wyoming. It was a great blessing to be able to leave the church in Bellevue, Nebraska in the hands of our youngest son, Joshua, as we accepted the call here to Central.

Since coming to Central, it has been an amazing time of experiencing the sufficiency of God’s grace working in our lives. After forty-six years in the ministry you get the mistaken notion that you know something and then the Lord reveals to you that you have just scratched the surface.

The Lord has done many wondrous things here. He has forged a bond of unity among His people. Like the early church we are endeavoring to keep the unity He has given us as brothers and sisters in Christ. We have seen a number of people come to know the Lord and we are seeking to disciple them through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, along with personal discipleship. The church is now involved in an endeavor to get the Gospel into every home in Gillette. We have dubbed this endeavor “Project Jerusalem,” Jesus said in Acts Chapter 1:8 “… and ye shall be witnesses unto me bot in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Gillette is our Jerusalem. Each family involved is given the responsibility of evangelizing the area immediately around their own home and then spreading out from there. We are presently within eighteen hundred homes of finishing that project. We believe it is important to give the children of our church families the opportunity to train their children in an educational program that honor God and focuses on Biblical values so in 2014 we began our own school as a part of our church ministry based on the A-beka system.

Lastly, we have been able to accomplish numerous renovations on our facilities. We have installed a new LED sign, parking lot lights, and have done other electrical upgrades. We installed some new windows and doors in the lower level of the church, and have made major improvements to the parsonage and the mission’s house. We have been able to pave our parking lot and ac units at both the parsonage and the church.

Along the way there have been some obstacles and valleys, but the Lord has always used these dark times as opportunities to reveal more of Himself to us.

Thank you so much for allowing us to share these moments with you. Should you decide to visit Central Baptist Church, or if you are looking for a church home, we offer an Independent Baptist Church that holds to the King James Bible as God’s perfectly preserved Word and seek to focus on the teaching and applying that Word to our lives. I can also assure you of one more thing you will find- a work in progress!
